Annual Scholarships

Annual scholarship funds are maintained with minimum yearly gifts of $1,000. The continuation of a scholarship fund is dependent upon the
annual gift.

There is no separate application for the Annual Scholarships and Endowments. A scholarship committee will pull all eligible students and decide recipients for said scholarships.

 

The Anderson Nursing BSN Annual Scholarship

The Anderson Nursing BSN Annual Scholarship is established by Dr. Lori and Mr. Andy Anderson. Dr. Lori Anderson is the Dean of Nursing and Assistant Vice President for Interprofessional Education in the College of Health Sciences at Tusculum University. Dr. Anderson has been a nurse for over 30 years and a nursing educator who is passionate about educating and preparing the next generation of nurses. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is the initial education that launches a nurse into the profession and provides the foundation for a nurse to continue pursuing lifelong learning.

The Anderson Nursing MSN Annual Scholarship

The Anderson Nursing BSN Annual Scholarship is established by Dr. Lori and Mr. Andy Anderson.  Dr. Lori Anderson is the Dean of Nursing and Assistant Vice President for Interprofessional Education in the College of Health Sciences at Tusculum University.  Dr. Anderson has been a nurse for over 30 years and a nursing educator who is passionate about educating and preparing the next generation of nurses.  A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree further prepares a professional nurse in an advanced nursing role as a family nurse practitioner and promotes the pursuit of lifelong learning.

The Robert L. Corliss Annual Nursing Scholarship

The Robert L. Corliss Annual Nursing Scholarship is established in memory of her husband by Arlene Dell’Aquila Corliss ’58 in recognition of the continuing need for well-trained, caring nurses.

The Creamy Cup Annual Scholarship

The Creamy Cup Annual Scholarship is established by Eric and Lynette Price, owners of the Creamy Cup.  Eric, a 2008 Tusculum College graduate, and his wife Lynette began the small business endeavor in 2010, and soon thereafter, participated in the “Help Me Help You” (HMHY) Program held at Tusculum College.  They recognize this program as being beneficial to their success as they began regional branding and marketing for the business during the HMHY Program.  They inspire to enhance people’s quality of life through coffee, and to become a community benefactor.

The Dale & Barbara Keasling Annual Scholarship

The Dale and Barbara Keasling Annual Scholarship is established by Mr. and Mrs. Dale and Barbara Keasling.  The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support for able and deserving students enrolled at Tusculum University.

Lois Alexander Teague Class of 1941 Memorial Annual Scholarship

The Lois Alexander Teague Class of 1941 Memorial Annual Scholarship is established by Dr. Dale Alexander and Pamela W. Teague, brother and sister in law of Lois Alexander Teague.  Dr. Teague is also a Tusculum College alumnus, class of 1951.

The Lois Alexander Teague Class of 1941 Memorial Annual Scholarship is established in honor of Lois Alexander Teague.  While attending Tusculum College, Ms. Teague majored in French, participated in the French Club and was a member of Phi Delta Alpha Honor Society.

The William D. Alexander '55 Memorial Annual Scholarship

Established in 2007 by wife Dorothy Alexander. Scholarship preference is given to able and deserving students from Greeneville or Greene County.

The Glenn Cox Memorial Annual Scholarship

Established by the Kiwanis Club of Greeneville, Tennessee. Tusculum University selects a Greene County resident for this annual award.

The Llewelyn M. Fox '16 Memorial Annual Scholarship

Established in 1965 by the late Mrs. Mary Gertrude Fox, of Greeneville, in memory of her husband, Llewelyn M. Fox, class of 1916 and charter member of the Tusculum University Sports Hall of Fame. Scholarship preference will be given to an able and deserving student from Greeneville or Greene County who demonstrates leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and sportsmanship.

The Mary Gertrude Fox Memorial Annual Scholarship

Established in 1997 by the Board of Managers of the Mary G. K. Fox Foundation to honor the memory of Mrs. Fox. Scholarship preference will be given to able and deserving students from Greeneville and Greene County who demonstrate leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and sportsmanship.

The Melinda Ruth Cansler Greene Annual Scholarship

Established by Annie and Jimmy Cansler in loving memory of Jimmy’s daughter Melinda, and as a means to provide support for students with financial need who are enrolled in the Nursing program at Tusculum College.  Melinda was a graduate of Washington College Academy, a school that, like Tusculum College was founded by Samuel Doak.  She attended the University of Tennessee.  She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church and was involved in Ladies Aide, the Girl Scouts, and Gifts for Kids.  She generously gave of herself to improve the lives of others, and is remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother.  Her daughters, Monica Paige and Brittany Danielle, are her greatest legacy.  Annie and Jimmy Cansler, in establishing this annual scholarship, seek to continue Melinda’s giving spirit by assisting deserving students pursuing a nursing degree at Tusculum University.

The Charlotte W. Newcombe Annual Scholarship

Established by the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation, of Princeton, New Jersey, in memory of Mrs. Charlotte Wilson Newcombe. Scholarship preference will be given to economically disadvantaged and/or minority students.

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation Annual Scholarship

Established by the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation of Atlanta, Georgia. Scholarship preference will be given to able and deserving Christian women who have financial need and who are residents of one of the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The White-Wilson '77 Annual Scholarship

Established by Mrs. Angela White-Wilson ’77 and Mr. Karl Wilson to support able and deserving students enrolled at Tusculum University.  Angela, matriculated from Tusculum in May of 1977, with a degree in Sociology.  She credits a successful career in the human services field to the well-rounded liberal arts education obtained from Tusculum.  She has established this scholarship to honor her parents.  Therefore, the scholarship will be named for William and Erma Lee White in recognition of their commitment to higher education and the personal sacrifices made to provide Angela with a quality education.

The Andrew Johnson Club Annual Scholarship

Established in 2007 by the Andrew Johnson Club of Greeneville. Scholarship preference will be given to students who are a resident of Greeneville or Greene County, has a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, full-time student with financial need. Recipients shall be selected in accordance with the established criteria by Tusculum University.

The Mr. Dante Owens Sr. '94 P. L. A. T. I. N. U. M. Annual Scholarship

Established by Mr. Dante Owens, class of 1994. The scholarship is to provide financial support for able and deserving students, who are African Americans, enrolled at Tusculum University. Preference should be given to academically promising students with financial need.

The Mr. Brian J. Click '99 & Dr. Holly S. Click '97 Annual Scholarship

Established by Brian and Holly Click, both alumni of Tusculum College. The scholarship is to provide financial support for able and deserving sophomore, junior, or senior Tusculum University students. Preference should be given to academically promising students with either Business or Education majors. The financial status of the student should not be a factor. Rather, the student’s efforts in community service and keeping their GPA above a 3.5 should be considered. The Clicks chose to establish this annual scholarship as a means of helping students pursue a college education.
