Master of Arts In Education – Special Education endorsement

Tusculum University offers an online Master of Arts in Education degree (Jared, let’s hyperlink to that) with a special education endorsement. This program is for teachers licensed in areas outside of special education in the state of Tennessee who would like the credentials to support and educate students in grades K-12 who have disabilities.

Coursework is designed to lead to two additional endorsements in special education pending transcript review and passing appropriate licensure exams. One is Comprehensive K-12, which is related to working with those students who have low incidence disabilities such as moderate to severe intellectual disabilities or multiple disabilities. The other is Interventionist K-8, which is related to working with those students who have high incidence disabilities, such as learning disabilities and mild intellectual disabilities. Special Education coursework is fully online (asynchronous) except for one course that requires three Zoom meetings. Full-time students can complete their degree in 12-months.
