Complete Step-by-Step Instructions for Applying for Financial Aid

Step 1- Apply to Tusculum

Apply for admission as a regular degree-seeking student by completing our online application. We have locations in Greeneville, Knoxville, and Morristown. Contact an enrollment representative at 423-636-7312 to discuss the available programs and when classes start.

Step 2- Complete your FAFSA

Apply for financial aid by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov. The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for financial aid including: Federal Pell Grants, Federal Stafford Loans, the Tennessee Student Assistance Award, and the Tennessee Hope Scholarship for non-traditional students. Your FAFSA will need to renewed each year you are enrolled in school.

 

Step 3- Federal Loans (Student and Parent)

If you plan on accepting your federal student loans, you will need to complete the Master Promissory Note and Entrance Loan Counseling at studentaid.gov. Both items can be found under the Complete Aid Process Tab of studentaid.gov. You must sign in with the student FSAID and Password in order to complete this paperwork. For parents, if you wish to apply for the parent plus loan, the parent(s) will go to studentaid.gov and complete the application for the parent plus loan located under the Apply for aid tab of studentaid.gov. If approved for the loan, the parent will need to complete the Master Promissory Note for Parents located under the Complete Aid Process Tab of studentaid.gov. The parent will need to use the Parent FSAID and Password in order to complete the documents for the parent plus loan.

Once step 1 and step 2 are completed, financial will begin creating a personalized award offer for the student. All initial award offers are mailed to the home address on the application to Tusculum.
