Our December 2024 Graduation and Commencement Ceremony will be in-person in the Pioneer Arena on December 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
Number of guests will not be limited in the Pioneer Arena and tickets will not be needed.
Please complete your Application for Graduation by November 8th to ensure we print your name correctly on your diploma.
There is a graduation fee of $100 that must be paid by all graduates regardless of whether you participate in the ceremony. This fee covers the purchase of your diploma, diploma tube, and costs for the ceremony. The Business Office has added the graduation fee to your student account.
To receive your diploma following the end of the semester, all academic and financial obligations to the University must be met. December diplomas will be available for pick-up from the Registrar’s Office starting on January 13th, 2025. Any diplomas not picked up by end-of-day on February 7th will be mailed to graduates on February 10th.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: All potential graduates must have their outstanding balances owed to the university paid in full prior to the ceremony. If a graduate has not paid their balance in full, they will not be allowed to attend the graduation ceremony.
Payments must be made to the Business Office – please contact them for balance or payment information.
Payments can be made in the Business Office the morning of the ceremony if needed. If you are unable to settle your balance before the ceremony, you are welcome to instead attend the next graduation ceremony following full payment of your outstanding balance owed.
Please note: A balance owed will not prevent you from graduating from Tusculum University following completion of your academic requirements. However, your diploma and your final transcript with your degree posted will be held until your balance is settled.
If you wish to order regalia to participate in the ceremony, you must also complete this regalia order form by November 8th.
Your graduation regalia will be mailed to the address you provide when you order. Students must have regalia to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please contact the Registrar’s Office if you any questions about this process.
We are excited to share that beginning with the May 6, 2023 Commencement Ceremony, students who have not yet completed all requirements of their degree, but have no more than 6 hours of coursework remaining, will be able to participate in a commencement ceremony early.
If you will be within 6 credits hours of completing your degree requirements at the end of this semester, these are the steps to apply to participate in a commencement ceremony early:
Please note: Although you may be approved to participate in the commencement ceremony early, your degree will not be conferred until the next graduation date following completion of your coursework.
Also, please be aware that Tusculum University will no longer be holding commencement ceremonies in August. Those who will finish their programs in August will participate in either the May or December commencement ceremonies.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this new policy and have more questions, please feel free to contact the Registrar’s Office at registrartu@tusculum.edu or 423-636-7311 for more information.
*Same instructions apply to hooding ceremonies for all Master’s degrees.
